Hi,

This is my first time posting here, but I thought I’d be brave and show what I have managed to create using Artgraf graphite putty.

It’s a strange medium, and will need a lot more practice but I’m relatively happy with my first couple of attempts.

I used it predominantly dry on the sea/clouds picture, and predominantly wet on the swan. It blends well even after being used wet. It’s very messy to use!

Hopefully this gives some idea of what it is for those who were in the live lesson when I mentioned it!

Definitely get the darker graphite color with this medium…are you having fun yet? lol Thanks for showing us what it is like …I appreciate that! Might work well on Getting Sketchy with a time limit to work on it!

Not sure about fun but yeah, it’s good to experiment! I think people with more art experience than me will probably achieve better results and yes, would probably be very useful on Getting Sketchy!

Hi Terri,

No, I’d never heard of it until it appeared in my art subscription box either! It’s definitely strange but I can see it having a lot of potential. I’m still very much a beginner anyway, so don’t yet have enough skills to use it as effectively as others might but I will certainly play with it some more!
