I recently created some 5 x 7 cards using colored ink on Coal Black Strathmore cards. The photograph and lighting is not the best but in case you want to take a look here are a few of my favorites. Teri, these are really awesome. I am finding that birds are one of my favorite references. Will you use these as cards for friends? The feathers on the hummingbird’s chest look so soft and fluffy. 🙂 Brenda ---

Brenda, Thank you! I too really enjoy drawing birds. Before I knew what I was doing I purchased some colored pencils and started drawing birds, about 10 years ago when I first was diagnosed with Lyme. As I mentioned I have Neurological Lyme Disease. There is a company that donates their products to me. I made one for each employee who works there as thank you notes. I made a different bird for each employee. It was fun and took a lot of time. Now it is just to mail them off. I do have a lot of cards I have made over the years and send to friends. Writing is much easier for me snail mail then emails due to the lights and thinking at the same time. Thank you again! Teri ---

@matriarchJane39 Thank you for your kind comments!! It sounds like you have some knowledge about Lyme disease. Art has become a way of therapy to keep me motivated, as it has been a long road, since 2013. Teri: A very close friend had one of the earliest diagnosed cases of Lyme. Unfortunately they told her she was hysterical, she was in menopause (at 35) and it was her imagination. It took 5 long years to get an accurate diagnosis. We suffered along with her. So, yes, I do know something about what you are going through. If you can do art like that, you are amazing! Jane, Thank you. It is so difficult to find people who understand. The artwork came out of something neurological cause by lyme. I did not do it before it just happened one day, a way to fill the time after being an A type person who was always active and on the go. I hope that your friend is doing better now. It can be a lonely journey as so many do not understand what Lyme does to a person. I am glad that you were there for her. I was told many of the same things and it took about 3 years to finally get the diagnosis. Thank you for the encouragement on my artwork. Teri ---

Teri: We are all too human and tend not to understand others difficulties until either we or our loved ones experience them. Yes, my friend felt alone and even though her husband was there and tried to be supportive he wasn’t very good at it. I lived 300 miles away and we didn’t have easy or cheap phone access back then. Congrats on finding something that gives you satisfaction and a great creative outlet. Jane ---
