# Getting Sketchy 12/11

This is by far my favorite type of Getting Sketchy. I loved the scotch tape that Ashley did- I happened to buy the Copic markers that week and was so excited to draw along that night. I enjoy reflective surfaces and alcohol markers so very much. I did take more time than the 45 minutes- but not more than one hour total. I used a gel pen instead of white charcoal also. It’s a little wonky but I like it!

Nice glass with all the reflectiveness! Following along is so fun, thank you for sharing! I might give it a try as soon as I catch up with the live lesson with water soluble oil painting. I did the tape Getting Sketchy though!

My Getting Sketchy Glass. I have ohu hu and small set of prismacolor markers that I couldn’t find. I pulled out the cool grays and warm grays. I used a white posca marker as well as white charcoal. Always so fun to follow along until the end! I went crazy with the blender afterwards which didn’t make it all that better so I added white charcoal to lighten the background a little. I loved working on my wonky glass!

So this was a process. I used pencils and a little ink and a little charcoal pencil. Not getting a vivid enough results (using just sketch pad 68# paper) I brought in my arteza collection of 36 grey alcohol markers.

I also used a grid to get all the circles and reflections, ellipses and proportions right. Well almost right!

You did really good! I love that you used different media to do your reflective glass with great results.
I struggled with the background gradation on mine using markers. But it sure was fun. It shows that you enjoyed it too.

Continuing with my eye drawing trend. Seems like when I can’t decide what to do, besides sketching I tend to use my soft pastels mostly drawing eyes. This is my Rheumatologist’s eye. She wasn’t judgmental when I asked her to take pictures of her eyes 😁
Here’s my progress so far. it’s on 5x7 sanguine pastelmat with pastel sticks and Pastel pencils
