# Quick and dirty sketch

Did this quick sketch. Sketch is ok but I was disappointed as I used a dip pen and PH Martin Bombay Sepia ink. I thought it would be brown-ish but looks black to me. maybe it is just old or something. I shook the heck out of it for a long time.

I think it’s great. It reminds me of one of those old pen illustrations. I love his eye. He looks totally startled! The strokes on his ear looks like the veins that show through.

Thank you! Certainly not a finished drawing but I thought a pretty good sketch. The old pen illustrations and watercolor and gouache images in old books are mostly in a style I admire. Been thinking about doing a Robinson Crusoe sketch.
