I have wanted to try this paper as a watercolor tutorial teacher uses it a lot with his style of watercolor painting. He is relaxing to watch in case you would want to check his tutorials out.
I think maybe because I was not using my nib pen. Since we don’t have extra water due to Helene I am not able to do painting at this time, conserving what we have!
Thanks Teri, I’ve been following Paul for a long time, it’s where I got the recommendation for this paper. It really is a great paper even though it’s cellulose based.
Hello all. Did last Wednesday’s class get cancelled? I wasn’t able to make it, and when I went to find the video to try and get caught up, I saw the there wasn’t a class? Hope everything is ok!
It is wonderful @janed! I can’t seem to lose my fear of watercolors and acrylic painting…especially having fallen so far behind. Maybe someday soon I will tackle my boat lesson
Here’s my finished line and wash painting.
Just a couple of notes: for the live lesson Matt’s drawing was 10x12 on Arches 140# hot press watercolor paper. Mine is 11x14
(so that I can use a standard size matt and frame) on Arches 300# hot press watercolor paper. Also, after using the nib pen for contour lines, I did more ink work with my Zebra Rubber 80 ballpoint pen.
It’s not my all time favorite painting, but it’s okay.
