Red eyed frog with Bokeh Background

My main reason for doing this piece was to work on the Bokeh (blurry) background. I’ve been endeavoring for get this process down for the past year and it always turned out strange. This was the first time it came out like I hoped it would.

Ruby, Thank you.
I used Caran D’Ache Supracolor Pencils and Pan Pastels.

I love the drawing. I need to learn the blurry background technique too. I tend to end up with a solid color for my backgrounds, which for some subjects just don’t do them justice. I like the way yours turned out

I have practiced with pan pastels and they seem to work the best for this technique. I can do it with colored pencils to, but it takes much longer to complete.
Thank you for your kind words!
