@junenez
Wow. You did great! I loved watching the getting sketchy.

Hi @junenez , I missed the live show but am watching the recording right now. Your lion is so regal ! Love it x Trev

I caught up this evening. Maybe more dog than lion.

The paper I’m using is some very rubbish watercolour paper that I purchased a few years ago when I really had no idea about paper. It’s from the UK chain The Works. I actually like it for charcoal and graphite.

Here is my Getting Sketchy lion. I stopped with 12 minutes left on the lesson, will finish it tomorrow. Mine is 10x10 on charcoal paper

Had to work it a little more, added white charcoal. The reference picture was so beautiful, I just had to try to at least make the whiskers a little better

Hi Sonia -

What a striking drawing. I really like the random way you’ve added the hairs, especially on the right side. But of course, there are a lot of other things to like about this one as well. The extra time you put into it, was well worth it.

I did this guy in graphite rather than charcoal, not being a rebel- just didn’t wish to put charcoal in my sketchbook. I think he’s a little goofy looking, but still tries to be king of the jungle. Always fun to draw along and listen to Matt and Ashley.

@HarleysMom,

Nice lion very detailed too! I like the way it is with graphite, and you’re right, not only is charcoal messy and loose for sketchbooking but the few ones I’ve done in my sketchbook are fading.
