Introduce Yourself Here!

@Harmina

Hi Harmina,

Don’t worry about late or no response. I am not online every day and it might take days or weeks for me to answer.

I am living in the western part, just a half an hour’s drive from the Dutch border.

Do you know this thread “Where do you live and what’s happening there”?

Buddy

So nicely done! I’m in awe! The colors are so clean and fresh! And the sensitivity is just fine!

Hi all! I’ve been here (pretty quietly) since 2013. I found one of my biggest medium loves (chalk pastels) here thanks to Mr. Fussell and always come back here when I really want advice or learning I trust. (The ebooks are a huge help for me and always have been.) I often teach art professionally and personally now and work in a lot of different mediums both digital and traditional, but I’m always looking to learn more and enjoy exploring new tools and mediums. I recently started in on oil pastels, for example, and have a question in that vein that I’m heading over to ask right after this.

Always glad to be here,
Aestarii

Hi! I’m Barbara Dubovsky. Here is my latest watercolor painting. It’s very small - about 8 x 8 inches.

Hi @barbaradubovsky

So nice to have you here on the forum. I hope you make it a habit to return frequently. Your watercolor painting is delightful. I really like the colors and how well you handled the media. I do several things that are 8x8. Just think of them as little treasures because that’s what this one is.

PS - One more comment. If you are a member of The Virtual Instructor, I suggest that you submit this piece of artwork to Matt for the “Members Minute” - the weekly critique that he does of original artwork from a member.

Hello, I’m Zeffie and excited to be here sharpening my drawing skills. My preferred medium is textile, but I dabble in colored pencil, graphite, ink and watercolor. I like the latitude Matt offers in his classes/courses and especially looking forward to participating in the live lessons. Thank you for making me feel welcomed here.
I create commissioned pet portraits in textile then quilt them like a traditional quilt. They are typically 16x20 inches and are hung on a wall. The money paid to commission a portrait is 100% donation to a pet shelter, rescue, or a pet health non profits. I feel like it’s a win-win because the owner receives a piece of art featuring their own pet and I get to create that art. I’ve included my latest textile pet portrait. They usually are not put in a frame like Yeti is, but this owner wanted to have it framed; most are a traditional quilt binding like PeeWee.

Hello back at you! Where abouts in Germany are you located? Growing up I must have spend almost all my summerholidays in different camping sites in Germany - I absolutely LOVE the country, the language (which I don’t really master) the cousine, the culture.

Hi Sys, wow! I never made it to your country for vacation and nowaday, travelling is a challenge forme. Really love Scandinavia and have once been in Norway for several weeks and for a concert tour with my jazz group back then in Finland. That’s been a great time.

I am living in Düsseldorf, pretty closed to the Netherland border. Unluckily in a too big town, but that’s where life dropped me. Lol

Well, here I am. I’ve been here for a few weeks, so I thought I’d pop in and say hello. I’ve been following the forum and I recognize some of you from the chat in “Gettin’ Sketchy” which I’ve been watching for quite a while so I feel like I know some of you. You all are posting some great artwork and it’s so fun to see everyone’s different renditions. I’ve also been watching lots of videos, live lessons, and the critiques. I promised myself I would be disciplined and start with “25 Days to Better Drawing” but no, I jumped right in to “Three Little Birds” and I’m having a great time with them. Looking forward to interacting with you all and seeing your artwork.

So glad to see you here @tracidraws and looking forward to seeing your work. We’re a very positive and supportive group. If you need help or have a question, be sure to ask. Usually we won’t critique your work / tell you how to improve unless you ask us to do so. We will however cheer you on and point out the things you are doing well.

It would also be great if you shout out words of support to your fellow artists from time to time. Everyone thrives when their efforts are acknowledged no matter what their skill level is.

SO WELCOME !!!
