Just purchased white charcoal pencils

#charcoalwhitepencils
Can I have your opinions on the best white charcoal pencils I think I’ve bought them far too cheap
And white charcoal sticks
Thanks in advance

General’s white charcoal is good and you can get it in sticks and pencils. It’s the kind that Matt uses. White charcoal is not expensive so you probably haven’t got them too cheap.

@chellesky

I agree that general’s is good quality. This is what I use but I have found, for my style, that they don’t go on top of the graphite to well. I found a cheap as you said package and it will go on top of the graphite if working on grey paper.

I use black paper. Here is a couple I’ve done on my daily value studies,

I hope to see some of your sketches. Working with white charcoal and black paper is very rewarding.

They’re fantastic I really love seeing your artwork and thanks for your awesome reply
I’ve just finished my charcoal portrait module 5 in the charcoal drawing course
I’m away to post it now :blush:

Yes I too use generals for white charcoal pencils and just ordered Generals black charcoal since whatever kind I have tried with the Trumpet (wed Live class) isn’t working. Think it was a gift so don’t know the brand but was coming our shiny and don’t want that after all the hours of vine charcoal already!

Glad to have you with us Chellesky!
