That is very striking! Love your colors and the movement of the hare. What kinds of inks are you using? Are you applying with a brush? I have some colored inks fro Winsor and Newton that I’ve been playing around with but haven’t gotten very brave!
Hi!! I used Robert Oster fountain pen inks and Daler Rowney FW Acrylic inks as well for this one. I applied them with watercolor brushes.
Inks are so much fun just to swish around and watch them go
This is fabulous. I love this.
This is insanely beautiful and youve made this hare look mysterious and daring, which is incredible! Do you illustrate or have any type of career in this? Youre amazing!
Thank you so very much Denise
Thank you so much for your very kind words❤️
No, sadly no background or career in art. I took art in high school in 1993, just started back drawing everyday after probably a good 25+ years away from it back here a year ago. Im so happy you got the mysterious, i was totally going for a more daring, mystical hare with this. Thank you again!
Queeny107,
I really enjoy using colored inks. I also used the Daler-Rowney brand for the birds on black paper that I posted a few weeks back. Both the matt and the pearlescence.
wonderful job, free and loose. I wish I could be so loose, but I am who I am.

June,
The Winsor-Newton would respond differently because they are not acrylic. Daler-Rowney are acrylic based, real nice to work with and cover well. If you saw the birds that I painted on coal black paper that I posted a few weeks back you will see how brilliant they are and how well they cover.
They are really fun to work with. I also think the Queeney107 did a great job here!
I do have some acrylic inks. haven’t used them in a while cause my first few attempts were quite the disasters!
Wow, Well its incredible! Youre art is wonderful and i can tell from seeing it that you love it! Do you ever draw and ink people in this style? If so, i would love to see it!
June,
I know what you mean. Do you have detail brushes? The 0, 00, 000 and liner brushes? If you see the cards that I posted I did those with tiny brushes. Detail brushes. You can find them really cheap on Amazon.
My first tries were very random experiences, and they work on almost any type of paper, but since I like to draw birds, I decided to try like paining. I will attach a couple of the birds I did here in case you have not seen them.
I started just with washes and flowers, or whatever appeared. real lose. But since I prefer tighter drawings, I did the birds and they turned out better.
I hope this encourages you to try again!!
Teri
Hi!! Thank you so much for your kind words. Ive not attempted “full” people as of yet…lol closest ive gotten is half my face with Qor watercolors
Yes!!! This is where my passion for art flares up! I love this pece so much! Its beautiful! Please keeo posting, i love seeing your art so much! This is wonderful fo you not being familiar with creating faces/people! Definately keep it up!
I cant thank you enough for your positive kind words and encouragement. You have no idea how greatful I am.
Thanks for the tip on the brushes. I just ordered them. I am not much of a painter but the colored inks intrigue me!
June,
Colored inks are really forgiving. With detail brushes it is almost like drawing like I did in the birds. You can also splash inks in a wet background like with watercolor paints. You can get some really nice designs, just having fun and seeing what happens!!
