Bunch of Grapes

Hello Artists of all levels,

I am a beginner, learning with graphite pencils, charcoal and a bit of colored pencils.

This is a pencil drawing of a bunch of grapes - I’m having difficulty expressing light/shadowing. All feedback welcome.

Thanks
Yvonne

I think the leaves could use a little more darker tones. The grapes do too. The shadow on the bottom could use a little more darkening too. Keep the the lights, but gradually built up values. Take you time and don’t give up. The drawing is great.

Thank you Denise - appreciate your feedback/suggestions

Yvonne,
It’s great. Grapes are one of my favorite subjects. The secret to getting a good drawing and making it better is patience and persistence. If you find a good subject and great photo reference, then keep going until you get what you want out of it. It can be “scary” at times but don’t quit. Drawing takes more courage than most people think. Just keep going! This is an excellent start! Have a great day!
