Hello. My name is Carol. I’m sort of new here. I was a member long ago. I’ve made myself a challenging goal for 2025, creating at least something everyday. I’ve just started to learn pastels and really love it, and I also want to be able to draw and sketch more accurately. I’m here for practice ideas and to learn as much as I can. I’m happy to be here and hope to one day submit some work to get critiqued.

just think in a year you’ll have 365 artworks [minimum] to look back on and a journey that will improve day by day. That will be wonderful and it’s quite inspiring , please share.

Thank you so much for the replies. I am starting to work my way through the drawing courses today. My accuracy in my drawing is off and I’m not sure how to practice that. I’ve tried all the usual ways of measuring proportions. Maybe it’s just pencil miles. Matt said in one of his videos that just doodling in a sketchbook doesn’t work. It needs to be focused practice. I’m hoping the courses will teach me how to do that.
