I love using reference photos for idea sparking and using oil pastels for texture.

Wonderful job. This is great. Love it.
Really, really good job. The only thing I would have liked to see is less defined lines and more shadows in the background behind the foliage. If you look at your reference, there is a nebulous quality behind the main stalks and flowers that give the composition a sort of mysterious atmosphere. You have less of that giving it a more starker look that just borders on jarring.
But again, wonderful painting!
