Kingfisher with Colored Pencils

Hello @Elina ,

I own a full set of cretacolor pastel pencils, and a set of the Mega Color colored pencils. I love the pastel pencils (they are harder to sharpen than most pastel pencils, even with a blade).
The mega color (super fat) are buttery and easy to use, I am actually using some blues for my Peewee and love them. The cretacolor indigo pencil is too light for Peewee’s drawing so I’m sticking with the prismacolor indigo. I think you won’t be disappointed if you get those. The only drawback is the limited number of pencils in the mega color set.
I hope this helps

@meme5 Oh, yes it helps🙏🏼… during reading one question came up:
Are the mega Color comparable to Luminance?

I think they feel more like prismacolors as far as the waxy feel; some of the colors I’ve used are just as pigmented as luminance but stick to already built up layers better than the prismacolor. Overall I think they are not as consistent in the application over built up layers as prismacolor or luminance. Keep in mind that the set I have is the mega color which only comes in a set of 36. Hardly a fair review with my limited experience with cretacolor colored pencils.
I hope my answer makes sense

I guess I failed to mention that I mostly end up reaching out for the prismacolor, polychromos, and luminance. I also own a set of Lyra polycolors which I use occasionally when trying to match a color. I also have derwent lightfast, derwent drawing, and holbein. Yes, I love colored pencils :grimacing: ( I am building up to full sets of lightfast and holbein from open stock a few at a time because they are pricey)
BUT most of all I love soft pastels which include pastel pencils ( you didn’t ask but I have to say it any chance I get )

@Meme5 thank you so much! Yes, it helps🙏🏼

@Meme5… And it’s quite motivating to test my pastels. I only have 12 Caran’d Arches. Kind of a mistake😅I thought I ordered colored pencils in pastel colors. I have zero experience with pastels. Now I bought some pastels more (no pencils), just to experiment a bit with this medium.

And I love to draw with graphite and with colored pencils… And now watercolor although :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:… As well a new playground for me.
