These are the “message from the artist” that I prepared for the show.
Thank you @robichon, as I was able to compile a nice message thanks to the experience of drawing “Terri’s Groove”.
I personally love the way they displayed the original works and printed items together.
It has given me a new idea of having my own specialty shop somewhere in the future.
It must be so fascinating.
I also made my debut as a kindle author.
This is the first time I tried the kindle direct publishing system.
It is a little bit troublesome, but not too difficult to handle…all in all, I think it is a wonderful system.
I loved seeing all your exhibit photos and what you wrote. I’m so grateful to you for all your kind words. What a wonderful display of your work.
I was also really touched by the part of your story about taking care of your mom. As you know, I’m following a similar journey with my sister, for whom I’m her guardian. Thankfully my sister still knows who I am but basically can’t do anything else at this point. My heart goes out to all people who have family members with dementia.
The pictures of the show are wonderful as I have said. i am so glad that you had such a great showing. I would expect nothing less as your work is professional and well displayed.
As always, best to you and your mom. Oh and I checked out on Amazon and if you put ball point pen artwork in the search your products shows up immediately..
i would have purchased the 1st volume of the Minimal Manual but I don’t have a kindle. I hope to figure something out soon. This is a method of artwork I am very interested in continuing to learn. I posted my cat on the thread of Matts class, which I did twice!
Oh yes, your own specialty shop, how wonderful is this idea! I can see it in my mind, imagination. I do hope it work’s out for you in the very close future. You have worked hard with your artistic endeavors. and the success shows in all that you create.
I don’t quite know the proper etiquette for congratulating a talented artist as you are. Not only you have a beautiful display of your own originality, but also include the collaboration with Terri of your creations from her beautiful photographs. Such an honor to be able to witness your artistic journey as you navigate art world!
Congratulations Maki, and thank you for sharing your story for is to enjoy. Congratulations Terri, on being part of Maki’s journey!
I saw in your message that you would have purchase the 1st volume of the Minimal Manual but don’t have a kindle. I don’t know if you are aware that you can download the Kindle E-Reader for PC for free. So, you could still read the book, but you would have to do it on your computer.
I just purchased your BALLPOINT PEN DRAWING MINIMAL MANUAL VOL.1 - Kindle edition by art animation
I have the kindle app on my iPhone. Can’t wait to try it all with my Zebra pens!!
You have started this post over 4 years ago, but I just saw it now.
There are no words to express how you touched my heart with everything: your art, your story, your mom and your dedication.
My second mom died of a brain tumor back in 2011. She did loose mostly who she was, but until the last days, there would always be a glimmer of herself in her eyes.
I hope for you that you could spent time in dignity with your mom. I think so, if I follow your words.
I wish, I would have been able to visit your so very lovely show myself. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
Also, thank you so much for caring about me and my mother.
Your nickname “Buddy” often reminds me of the relationship I had with my mother. She has always been a parent and a buddy at the same time for me.
I just hope that she will spend the rest of her time peacefully and comfortably with no further pains.
