A place to post your “Master’s studies” (also called “Master copies”)–doing your personal rendition of a famous Old Master’s artwork (painting, illustration, sculpture, etc.) for educational purposes (use of copyright free artwork is best). It’s like walking in someone’s shoes, but doing it with pencil or brush instead, and will teach you about an artist’s style and techniques, as well as the relevant art period and Art History. I’ve done this for decades as both a Lecturer/teacher as well as an eternal student. Looking forward to seeing what we all learn from the Old Masters!

I’ll start by posting 2 J.C. Leyendecker master studies I painted in gouache for classes I taught.
