Was working on another project and forgot our Mondays with Matt today…how did it all go today?
Therese
You missed a good time, we finished the rest of the leaves and started the background. We also have homework to do at least the top half of the background.

I finally caught up. I did this quite quickly and decided to go with imperfection! Using this exercise as a learning experience and working on seeing the darks and lights. Looking forward to the vase
All Tulips look great. I’ll post mine soon, when I can take a picture after it is finished, putting of the torture of looking at my tulips. June, I agree, I am using this as a value study.

This one is with charcoal only black and white before I ordered the other supplies. Probably add more to background as Matt finishes the project!
Yeah, you are all doing great! I am way behind art work, and hope to do more sketching during summer. All your tulips do show a very good value range.
@theresebriggs thanks for sharing both attempts of your art work. This is a great value study. I like the darkness of the charcoal very much. However, your graphite drawing shows more dynamic in the piece, which is really good.
@TLP I am sure that your tulips will turn out very nice. Hoping to see them in this galeria too.

I am calling this done. I could do more but I am pleased enough with the results and what I have learned along the way. It is challenging for me to do flowers - you all know how I love my cows!

This is really nice June… I think I see a cow in the vase
!!
I definitely had to frame the charcoal one cuz it wanted to smear soon as I did any changes on it!
The Mars Graphite on the lighter weight paper was easier for sure!
Wow - Teri - your tulips are looking fantastic. All the many sketches you have done in graphite over the years do contribute. I am so happy you could do some art work! Hope you had some fun with it.
Buddy
Wonderful, Therese - I really do like your charcoal interpretation of the tulips and the frame you chose. It’s really looking great.

Your cow made it, June! She must have sneeked in to put these tulips in the vase you forgot in the cow’s trough. Hopefully, the cow was clever enough to not drink the water for the tulips. You might want to check on that anyway.

Hello Melissa,
You did a lovely job with the vase of tulips. You should be very happy with the results. I too had to fiddle but more with the background. I’m looking forward to the next series using Acrylics.
