@meme5 One hour? What a sketch! The elephant looks realistic! How would it look like if you would choose to spend a bit time more on it?.. Elephants, these gentle giants💓

And: thanks for your feedback! Cat’s are wonderful. Mine is laying next to my feet right now♥️

Diana this is great. When you post can you tell us more. Like what media did you use and what size it is. Brand names for paper and supplies is often interesting to know as well.

Just letting you and others know the kinds of things we are curious about.

Hi guys
This is what I’m working on at the moment. It’s for my ex-husband and his partner, a portrait of their little dog, Max, who is a great favourite with all the family. I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with his curly, light-coloured fur given my lack of experience but things finally clicked today and now I’m feeling much more comfortable. I think it helped that now I’ve done his eyes, nose and mouth and I can see his personality coming through. I’m using pastel pencils on grey Pastelmat with pan pastels for the back ground. I think I still have quite a bit more work to do! Any feedback would be appreciated

His eyes, mouth and nose are looking realistic wet👍… so cool! And yes, there is a personality shining through! I like it … and want a wonderful present!

I finished both yesterday…
The first one is on DIN A3 390g/m2 3 times primed cotton paper drawed with derwent watergraphite, watercolour pencils and inktense. Some cheap Aldi watercolour pencils. The background is coloured withe watercolour cake from artist.

The black panther is drawn with Derwent graphite pencils (H to 9B) on DIN A4 160gr/m2 Artix Drawing paper

Hi Cathy -

Max is charming, and the eyes really do capture the viewer.

When I work on something I always have Matt in my head. He’s asking where the light source comes from , where the shadows need to get darker to better show the form, and there should probably be a shadow on the ground.

This is my suggestion for all members.
