Pencil sharpener for pastel pencils

Hi there x just a quick question. Every time i try to sharpen my pastel pencils they break. Its getting quite expensive! Does anyone have a good sharpener they can recommend. Many thanks Mandy x

Mand, I use one of these for all of my pencils, it’s awesome, doesn’t eat up your pencils, doesn’t break them. Very consistent point every time. Amazon, Faber-Castell Grip Trio Pencil Sharpener - Grey, 3-in-1 Artist Pencil Sharpener, Manual Handheld Sharpener for Colored Pencil, Jumbo and Graphite Pencils, about 10 bucks excellent.

I just use a utility knife and remove the wood, then sand them to a point if I need that with a sanding block. I think that is what you call it. It is reliable and it saves the sharpener for graphite and colored pencils. Pastel pencils can really dull a sharpener over time.

Thank ypu so much. Yes my sharpener is very blunt after using it with pastels. Ill try your recommendation. Everyone has been so helpful :slightly_smiling_face:
