Proportions with the Triangle Method

After taking some of the realistic drawing and mastering metal courses/classes, I thought I would try a graphite and white charcoal portrait. I have always struggled with proportions in portraits and was hoping to find something not as detailed as the grid method but just enough to give me a good start to draw freehand to improve my skills.

. Here is my experience with the Triangle method. I am happy to have found this technique on TVI. Thought I would share. Jim Zimmerman.

Super, Jim, thanks for sharing your art work and remind of the triangle method. I haven’t used it yet, but rely on the more detailed grid. You did really great in mastering the proportions.
