I am thinking of getting a new table in my art space , right now I have a few standing easels and a flat table . What are your thoughts on a table with a tiltable board . Which to you prefer and why ?

I’ve never liked drawing and painting when I stand up. I actually prefer a flat table so I can put all my supplies anywhere I want for any size of artwork. I also like working with watercolors, and it’s best to do that flat so the paint does not run (and so I can put my container of water close to the artwork.
I will add that I always tape down my drawing / painting on a board. If I’m drawing or painting with oils/acrylic paint I may put that board on my lap with it resting on the edge of the table (so I do in fact draw at an angle in those cases).

I also work on a flat table but with certain mediums I like to work on a slight angle. You may laugh but I bought some rubber door stops, 4 for $7.00 US on Amazon. Right now they are on sale for $6.00. This way it is easy to move then and work both at a slight angle and flat depending on where I am on any given project.

Also this way all of the supplies needed are on a flat table and the size of the artwork can be supported at the same time if necessary.

I had a tiltable art table. I threw it out. I use a flat table, and when I need to on a tilted surface I use a table easel.
I have a tiltable table and after struggling with no place to set things, everything falling on the floor, or having to constantly switch it back and forth when changing to watercolor, I put it back flat. I use a magnetic board to attach my artwork to and tilt it when I want it tilted with yoga wedges.
That is a really clever idea. I would have never thought of something like that. Thank you for responding

That is a great idea as well. That is what I was thinking with the table as well. That is why I was asking feed back before getting one , the yoga wedges are a cool idea.thank you for responding and giving me you honest feed back about the table .
