I am so excited, I have just received my first prints. I’m not sure how to price them. I am thinking 2 x the cost of printing. Do you think this is too much?
There are such wild variants in pricing that I can’t help with that, but would you share details of you print process? Like where you got them, what kind of prints, what size, how much it cost for how many, and do they match the original? Of course, if you wish to keep the info private, I will understand. I know you must be very excited.
Hi Ginny,
My husband bought me the Epson Perfection V600 photo scanner. He then downloaded the program Microsoft ICE, which stitches the scans back together, since my pictures were too big to get in one scan. I ordered the prints on somerset velvet giclee paper from IPRINTFROMHOME.COM. I couldn’t be happier with them, they look just like the originals to the point you feel like you can smudge the pastel! Very happy. Prints vary in cost according to size. I had three different prints made, 1 of each picture to see if I was going to like them. Love them. Turn around was 5 days total. They say they ship within 3 business days and they did. Did I mention that I was really happy with them? Lol.
I did find that using the scanner I did have to hold the door down gently on scanning the center of each picture to keep the scans lighting consistent, but it was very easy to use.
I do have to say, I posted a picture of my prints on my Facebook page and within an hour, I got 2 orders, for notecards. Lol.
Wow. Nice setup you have there. I have a laser printer/scanner and I do my own stitching with PaintShopPro. It doesn’t always look so good. Quite often, I just take a photo of my art and adjust and crop. When I sell one, I take it to my local print shop for scanning and printing. Believe it or not, they actually got an art print printer because I was giving them so much business. LOL! I don’t get any prints made until they are sold, though. I did get some notecards made. The ones that are not selling I use for my art business correspondence, which is not very prolific, so I have a lot of them sitting around. LOL! I hope you sell out and are wildly successful.
By the way, I found your facebook page and saw the little pug looking up the stairs. Wow! The cropping made such a difference! It is so beautiful! I am so glad I got to see it.
Thank you, Ginny. I am learning a lot from Matt. I have been a member for 3 years and it’s amazing the things I have picked up, sometimes without realizing it until I see I am doing it!. But sometimes I really need instruction.
I think that just reading/watching all the available content, whether you are arting along or not is very helpful. You can’t help but absorb stuff. . Especially the member’s minute. We learn without realizing it. Also, we learn from repetition, because he repeats things. Repetition is a wonderful tool for learning.
I agree Ginny, I always pick up something from the members minute Of course the corses and live videos as well.
Congratulations on your prints Lori. I don’t think 2x the cot of the printing is too much at all, of course there is your time you put into it as well.
