House looks great James and you’re progressing really well!
You could have just made it an 8x 10 if you would have wanted.
Mine is going to be 12x 16 but really having an issue with the big trees in the front :(!..just keep trying! That’s my motto!
Regarding the trees, I think the problem is you’re painting what your brain thinks a tree looks like. The better approach is to see them as blobs of various shades and shapes of green and look closely and only paint what you can see.

Thanks, Therese. I agree 8x10 would have been a good choice. Doh! I need to learn to think this way in the future and not just copy the instructions. I guess I am committed to the more yellow tones underneath the fields, so I am hoping that when it comes to any glazing, I can do it with a cooler green, maybe. I guess we’ll see.

Although I understand what you mean about wanting it a certain way, I really think it’s really well done. Hopefully you’ll find a happy place for your own tree accomplishments, if that makes sense, but it’s coming along really nicely.
I hope I can catch up or finish soon enough.

Getting closer to done!
Couldn’t get the slant on the house for some reason…if you see this Matt explain why please!I just decided to add the porch all away across the front since it wasn’t looking sideways but more frontal!

Hi Therese, two things popped in my eyes regarding your question about the house, but first of all: what a lovely painting!!!
Like Matt suggested in today’s classes, you might have missed painting the house in perspective. If you Look closed, on the right side the lines of the roof and the building are higher than on the left side. They should get lower towards the vanishing point somewhere at the right side of the picture plain.
Same goes for the porch, which you painted all around the house, again missing the vanishing points. If the porch wrapps around the house, the left side should follow the vanishing point somewhere left of the picture plain.
If you have a dice and turn it in your hand, you hopefully can see what I mean. Matt has a great lesson about how to draw in 1, 2 or 3 point perspectives.
If you lightened up the left side of the house, where the light hits the building, the house would appear more 3d too.
