Ambrosia (Rosie) pet portrait, watercolor pencils and watercolor

Hi Terri. I was actually there last night. I chatted a bit at the beginning, I guess before you came in. I got so wrapped up in Matt doing the hands that before I knew it the time was up! I wasn’t feeling really well, so that probably had something to do with it as well.

It’s good to know that even you set things aside for another day. I think I’m either going to do something in colored pencils or do the ink and wash course in the interim.

Hi Brenda - Sorry I missed you. That’s what I get for showing up late. Hope you’re feeling better today.

Not only do I have one thing started and not finished, it’s more like a dozen things. About half of those will probably eventually get done. I hope.

I’ll watch for your posts to see what you decided to do next.

I looked at it for several days and finally figured out what was wrong. The most important thing was darkening the values in areas other than her face. I have yet to address the background or the pillow. There are some shadows that will develop when I address the pillow. I did, however, crop some off the bottom, and I think that will help as well. It’s certainly far from perfect, but I’m not completely unhappy now. I do plan to finish it, even if I have to set it aside again.

Brenda,

Loving this! Her face is popping and looking great. Good idea to darken around the face. Can’t wait to see the next steps.

Looking forward to finishing up the orangutan tonight. Hope you are feeling better
