My name is Ann and I have just joined this wonderful site. I would appreciate some advise I am a bit of a late starter in this arty life. I am going to try out the bulb drawing in one of the videos and I was wondering what would the best background colour paper to use? I will be using pencil and charcoal.

Welcome to this site. You’ll find that we are all in different stages of expertise.
Not sure what color of paper you should use. Of course, it would be lighter if you are using the mediums you mentioned.
