It’s wonderful how you take the time to share your experiences with various art supplies with others here on the forum. You are awesome when it comes to using pastels as we all have seen time and time again, so you really do know what you’re talking about. The Dalmatian is coming along nicely as well. Looking forward to this one being completed. I don’t plan to do this one myself.
Thank you for always being a positive energy for me and others here. You are right about my tendency to try anything and everything related to soft pastels. I left out pastelgrain, also made by clairfontaine which is highly toothy for tons more layers than pastelmat.
Just finished my dalmatian. I tried hard to fix some scratches on the paper that happened, when I was about 3/4 finished. Fixing with pastels and water helped a little. Thank you all so very much with all your advices!!!
Yeah, and then I used fixative. Oh no, all whites messed up. I had to go on top on the whole dog, but then I lost control over my body due to a seizure. You name it!!! Ending up with some bad smears, I did clean it up again and called this one finished.
Finished my Dalmatian. I will clean up the dots and all around the negative space meeting the positive space because per usual as soon as I load up the picture, all kinds of little things pop up. But I consider mine finished. It only took me a looong time.
OMG - You’re like the Energizer Bunny . . . you keep going, and going, and going. Working on the watercolor clouds, working on the ink church and now finishing the Dalmatian.
Proud of you and not just how much you are doing, but also the quality of your work.
The Dalmatian looks really good, and I never would have guessed how much you struggled with it. Thank you for sharing your beautiful drawing. (I didn’t see it when you posted, so I’m sorry for the delay in making a comment.)
