Expected tree pen drawings show

Quite recently I dropped by a café called Karoshi with a garden designer to discuss the renovation plan of the garden of my mother’s home. The café owner actually came to my solo exhibition before, and it was fun to see and chat with her again. I then remembered that she was a tree lover, which suddenly made me come up with an idea of having a show at her café focusing on tree pen drawings.

Come to think of it, I’ve had lots of opportunities to take photos of trees while I was travelling around the world.
The reference photo of this drawing was taken in Karuizawa with my brand new SLL camera.
Here is the comparison of the photo and my drawing…

I also have tree photos from Takachiho, Kamakura, Madagascar, and Australia.
Well, this first attempt is already so exciting because it is really challenging.
I expect other planned works will bring about so much fun and excitement. This tree pen drawing series will definitely be masterpieces! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :cat:

Exquisite! I love pictures like these, both to look at and to draw. Looking into the picture you can get lost in day dreams. Love that. Drawing pictures with lots of details and textures just puts me in such a relaxed state, I am quite unaware of the time that goes by. Thank you for sharing this picture. It is absolutely wonderful!

What kind of ballpoint pen do you use? Is it a gel pen or a couple of different diameters? Just mind blowing detail!

Hi Denise, thank you for your kind words. :cat: :+1:

Hi Troy, thank you so much for your comment. I use a Zebra Rubber 80 mostly. The paper size is A4. :cat:  :tada:

Hi Lori, thank you so much for your kind comment. Yes, this sort of drawing is interestingly work as both a stress-reliever and stimulant. For the planned new show of tree drawings, I am going to draw about 20 new works, so this happiness goes on for a while. I will add my new works in this thread. :cat: :+1:

The piece as a whole is amazing, but that progression :scream: So awesome, the scene kept getting denser and denser! Will you make a video showing the photos together like a timelapse?

I’d have called it “Finished” at about the halfway point, after tossing in some background on the right. I’d be too afraid of messing it up to keep pushing it so far.

Excellent work and patience!

Hello TheMustardSeedLife, thank you for your comment. I may make a video, but only after I complete all the planned drawings. I got around 19 more to draw for the show, so I need to focus on drawing first. :cat: :upside_down_face:

Thank you for your comment, Troy. I know the feelings very well. But it is actually this final refinement that makes a huge improvement to your works. :cat: :wine_glass:

Hi Buddy, thank you so much for your kind words. Yep, I feel uncomfortable with a cat-less piece, I really wanted to throw a cat somewhere in this drawing too, but I stopped myself. The second piece of this series will be cat-less again, but the third one will have cats…my favourite black cats! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :cat:

:scream_cat::scream_cat: Amazing! I can hardly tell the difference between the photo and the drawing. Great job!

Hi Maki, for the first time I just I have seen your profile happened, because I read your very kind words from my cell phone. Very impressive!! :tada:

I completely understand that you are missing your favourite black cats, since cats simply belong to your art, no signature needed.

I wish you all the best and very curious to see how your series will proceed.
