Gettin Sketchy - Cardinal

My 45 minute version. I might do more to it. I used pan pastels in background.

@Brenda

Brenda,

This is lovely. You would never know that it was a 45 minute sketch. I do enjoy seeing birds and drawing/painting them.

Again beautiful I’d frame it.

I’d like to try this again with more effort. I had the aspect of the paper wrong from the start. I’d also like to use better pencils and paper. It’s a great subject

Looks good Jane. Please post if you do it again. I brightened the red just a bit on mine.

Both your cardinals are beautiful, especially with color adjustments. I am halfway through the getting sketchy lesson. I decided to go a little slower than Matt. I didn’t want to mess it up because I want to frame it. It’s such a beautiful bird.
I had started it during lunch break the other day on some random white, textured paper I found stashed in my sketchbook. I hated the texture so I abandoned it until I got home and got miteintes paper same as Matt’s lesson.

I’m done with cardinal. I’m ok with it, I don’t like how my background turned out.
