Well, here’s a different thing. I don’t even own soft pastels. I’ve never drawn with any pastels for that matter. I have used PanPastels for backgrounds and pastel pencils for transferring images but that’s it.
This drawing looks like I did it digitally. It was done with Faber Castell Pitt pastel pencils on a piece of white Pastelmat card that is so smooth it is like velvet. I was going to go back in and add some texture to the lemons but I’m sort of happy with it like this and being as I have no idea what I am doing I thought I would just leave it this way, order some soft pastels, and take a proper lesson.
Obviously, I did not do this in 45 minutes. More like the entire day. I moved some of the leaves around or just made them up to change the composition but try to keep it balanced.
