I feel your pain Kathy. I live close to Birmingham. Wednesday live Getting sketchy finished just after the midnight but I’m telling you, it’s well worthy. The oportunity to talk to Matt and Ashley is priceless as well as watching their amazing work.

Hi i found this site on you tube just started drawing did a few free tutorials then i signed up best money i ever spent .I have been at it about 6 months .Learned a lot so far Matt is a great artist and teacher

Hi Everyone, I am Ancy. I was clueless about art about a year ago. Clueless to the point that I applied water over colored pencil that I found in my daughter room when she moved out. Then I stumbled upon Matt’s 3 birds with color pencils and decided to give it a try. Been a member since. I have learned a lot from Matt. Thank you so much Matt.

I encourage you to watch the live lessons. They are much more detailed and real time. I think that you would enjoy them too, depending on what time zone you are in. They are also recorded to rewatch on the site. There is a chat so you can ask Matt or Ashley questions there like on GettingSketchin’.
The critiques, the tab where the forum tab is are where I think I have learned the most. They are definitely worth watching.

Ancy, in addition to Teri’s recommendations, a good starting place is the course entitled “25 Days to Better Drawing.”
That’s where I started, and I’m still obsessed 18 months later. There is so much available on the site. The second course I did was the Colored Pencil course. A good rule of thumb is to draw every day. Currently, I’m working through the “Subjects with Pen and Ink,” which has really challenged me. Matt and Ashley are the best art teachers I’ve ever had. I learn something every single day.
Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you need hel figuring out the website.
