Wow. Absolutely impressive!! I might have to just give up trying to work along the live lessons and just do them way after it’s all done.

Hello all you Convex Drawing Artists - really looking good. I have missed participating in the chat and attempting this, my brain just couldn’t do it at this time. Will be watching for updates of all your work in the future.

I am INSPIRED!!

Wow. This is challenging stuff!!! You can see I’m not caught up, but I might be by Wednesday. My lines are more than wobbly, more like wonky! Curious to see how it goes with adding value. :crossed_fingers:t2:I also think my glass is for the Jolly Green Giant.

Hi Brenda - I love your ability to just keep going - like the energizer bunny. The jolly green giant glass comment left me laughing. You are great because you brighten my day!

Hello @Brenda I am about the sane place. Now that portrait is completed, I have a lot of catching up to do. Great job so far.

With trepidation, I am posting my finished drawing. This is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever attempted, and without Ashley’s brilliant instruction I would never have finished. I got way behind in October, and it took me until yesterday to catch up and complete the project.

I’m okay with it, but I know there is a lot I’d change if I tried it again. (Which I’m NOT going to do!) LOL! There is one glaring misrepresentation among other bits of problems with perspective and value.

I used the Arteza gray tone markers. The neutral grays didn’t seem to go light enough, so I used the cool grays which had 9 tones from very light to quite dark. I didn’t use the two darkest markers, but I did use all the others. I would recommend these markers if anyone is looking for a great variety of grays. There are 36 markers which include 9 cool, 5 neutral, 9 warm, 4 gray-blue, 4 gray-green, and 5 gray-yellow.

What took Ashley about 10 hours probably took me more like 25 at least.

Hi Brenda - You have blown me away with how great your completed drawing looks. I think this is the most difficult lesson I’ve seen and you without a doubt have succeeded to conquer it. What an inspiration you are.

Hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi @Brenda , Love the way you drawing finished up.

I got way behind and haven’t touched much art since just before Thanksgiving. But did get back to doing some artwork and finished the convex drawing.

Hi Lenet - This looks great. I didn’t play along with this live lesson. It looks like it was quite the challenge, but you excelled. Thanks for sharing your art.

Thanks Terri @robichon . The layout was the hardest part really, with trying to get the hang of drawing on a distorted curve. But once that was in place, the rest was basic pen and ink hatching. It really got fun when we got to the markers.

It was a very hard lesson for me. I actually gave up and figure I will hit it again later this year. But I love your linework. I think it will really help me for my 2nd attempt.

I love this, Lenet. It’s likely the most difficult drawing project I’ve ever done. I think you did a really good job with it.

Thank you, too, @robichon ! I’ve been pretty absent from the forum since before Christmas. I’m hoping to get back into the groove soon. I’ve missed these interactions.

Thank you @Brenda , it was a little bit of a challenge. I have learned over time to make my art mine and not so much trying to copy exactly what Matt or Ashley is doing exactly. That will drive me crazy. I did try to follow this one closely as I wanted to do a good represtation. I really love refltions, distortions, etc. As I find them a challenge.

I also liked this one because of the extra character the markers give it.

I learn something new on every one.
