Looks amazing! Something that size in colored pencils scares me. Great detail on the dog as well as the tree branches! The simple background really works for winter and makes the dog stand out.
Thank you so much for your observations. Yes, something that big is scary and I had to keep ordering more pencils. The tree branches are supposed to be ice crystals. It was interesting to paint in layers. First the dog, then the snowflakes, the background, the ice and finally the door frame.
I was going to guess frost but didn’t latch onto the “through a window” look. I guessed evergreen tree branches since they mostly feathered out in the same direction/interval instead of snowflake like branching on the branching. Not really sure how to represent it, that’s a tough subject.
