Mood Color Studies

A few color studies I did digitally with limited palettes to practice color theory and mood! Would love to receive any feedback! Thank you! Jesus loves you!!!

I’m personally a lover of black and white, so if I don’t do that I typically stick with the reference colors. But, I can see why it is fun to play with options.

I appreciate the comment @robichon ! For me, studying various color options is useful to help silently convey a mood, especially when storytelling in the comic medium! Thank you again!

This is a really cool exercise. I enjoy colors, and creating a piece of art over and over is a great idea, though I don’t do digital at all.

Thanks for sharing this exercise.

Thank you @TLP ! Oh, I actually didn’t draw the piece multiple times–because it was digital, I was able to easily duplicate it for color studies. :art:

Thank you, TheMustardSeedLife. I do remember you are a digital artist. I do like the idea, and it would be worth trying with the same simple drawing in different moods as you said.

Alos, as a traditional armature artist I think repetition leads to improvement of different skills. Value, depth, space, color schemes, composition etc. I may try it. If I do, I will post my results.

Thank you for bringing up the idea to me again.

You’re welcome @TLP ! I also think repetition is good practice. In fact, the base photo above is actually part of a set of environment sketch studies I did(digitally), which included other buildings! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
