Graphite pencil  used a darker B pencil. I don’t do much pencil work now as enjoying pen work, but graphite is a great medium and your rose is looking great

Hi Sonia @Meme5 -

WOW - WOW - WOW it is fabulous.

Please send the finished pears to Matt for the members minute, but first you need to crop the photo to the size / shape which you think will make the best composition.

This is absolutely awesome  I mean look at it… It’s incredible. Well done!!

Thank you…that means a lot. Thanks for encouragement.

Lovely Sonia, very well done. Yummie!!!

You want a critiques? I had the feeling that the value of the leave and the pear on the left side are very similar. By double checking myself, I looked through gray scale from my mobile on my tablet. Well, too screens inbetween won’t do good to true colors, but my mobile told me to be right.

On gray scale, the edge of the left leave were it meets the peer is almost lost.

Dear, this is being too pricky, as these pears are just extremely well done and ready to be eaten.

Hi @Dannomiss89 Dan

Your “style” is easy to recognize, and I quite like it.

I often wonder what my style is because my subjects and media are all over the place. I guess realism best describes what I create.

Would love to here what other members would say. Do you have a style, and if so how would you describe it?

Crazy as it seems, on Halloween day I finished the Christmas cards for this year. I even got the hand addressed envelopes done with cards in the envelopes. Now the box will sit there until a week before Thanksgiving when I go to the post office. This is 3 weeks sooner than ever before and it just makes me happy.

Not a typical drawing/painting as I typically post, but definitely took advantage of my art supplies. The tree is painted with watercolor paint on 140# hot press watercolor paper. The spattering and red outline are in acrylic ink, and I even used my new nib pen. The branches are “stamped” on.

Trying hard to get the hang of polychromos and different skin colours

Freehand without solvent. Strathmore vellum. Wip. From a photo reference. If someone has ideas what I could do better… i like the hair. I’m dissatisfied with the shadow of the throat/chin lower part.

I think style is funny really as I think it’s something you discover as you journey along on this art journey. Not sure I have completely found my style… I started with graphic, then went to alcohol pens, then watercolor colour and then to pen sketching… Look at these few examples of my journey… Styles are all over the place as I discover what I love drawing :heart:

Hi Dan @Dannomiss89 -
I think you have a better-defined style than you realize, and I can really see it in this collection. Whether you do or don’t use color, you have an easy-going quality in the fact that your linework is seldom a collection of perfectly straight / structured lines. Architecture is a theme you clearly enjoy. And it is the linework that is the star in everything you draw. Looking at your art just makes me happy, and also makes me want to “loosen-up” a little more in my own work. You are very talented. So glad you share your art with us.

Hello Buddy Friend @Buddy,
Thank you so much for your critique, I can see what you pointed out and will definitely fix that contrast between leaf and pear. Also I googled the translation of pear tree poem which I cannot quote at this exact moment but bookmarked it to have it. Thank you again

Dan @Dannomiss89,

While my art terminology is quite limited, what I can say is that I see a beautiful array of beautiful art with a touch of whimsy that makes it fun and enjoyable to look at. It’s easy to see your joy for doing it, making it seem effortless.
Please keep posting!

Hi Sonia @Meme5

I love the sketches - and glad you posted them.

(You should also have guessed that your name and address are on one of the envelopes, but you’ll just have to wait a few weeks before I mail it.)
