Hi @NeverMore Bobby
That is a beautiful drawing. How special for your family to receive an original drawing. You are giving them a very special part of yourself.
I bet none of those cards ever get thrown away.

Yes, learning that references are just a starting point, in other words “suggestions “ is difficult for many of us to actually carry out. Congrats on a nice piece of artwork and thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Of course they get quite a few. I guess my sister has more than any—she has the only water color I think I’ve ever done over 40 years ago and won’t give it back!
I really like that. Those colors “pop!”
did this horrid chap in alcohol markers and neutral colour pencils for my daughter ! (who plays Warhammer games with her boyfriend - tons of money for the manufacturers of all the miniatures etc )
Hi Bobby @NeverMore ,
that’s a lovely personal greeting , I like the way the building stands against the dark background foliage , very nicely done
Trevor
Very cool, Trevor!
@trevowen Trevor,
Your conté crayon portrait is very good! I love the expression on his face and the light areas too.
Also the Warhamer character is wonderful. You are so creative!

What a lovely scene for your Christmas cards. Thank you for sharing!
Great job on your pastel drawing! I like the lose qualities of the strokes. Keep sharing your art!

My lemon in pastels from timed drawing exercise here at TVI . Getting Sketchy, Timed drawing exercises, or my own sketches are my go to when not having longer slots of time to dedicate to my back burner more involved drawing drawings. Sometimes I just want a fast return to my efforts. What more satisfying than soft pastels? …to me anyway…
I used pastelmat 5x7 with my gallery mungyo soft pastels which today thwy were not too dusty? Go figure.
Also here is the link to the lesson just so you guys know

Hi Sonia. @Meme5
I just really love seeing all the wonderful things you create. And I can’t believe how much you can accomplish in relatively short periods of time. My life is better because I know you. Thanks for all that you share. By the way, the lemon is very good.

Today I revisited my long ago lesson of the oil cow. I painted on top of the old one which kind of helped me. I think it turned out better than the first one. Meh! A little impasto but not so much of a blob of paint! I will revisit my white rose also. I can’t wait for the next week’s live class! I have all the oil materials out and ready. I hope I don’t waste them all just practicing painting or revisiting my old blobbed paintings haha
Hi Sonia @Meme5 , niiiice pastel !! I love the rich background making that juicy lemon pop !! Where’s my gin gone ? Really very good x
Hi Sonia @Meme5
Yes, I can see the improvement with the cow, and definitely am looking forward to the white rose. It was one of my favorite oil painting lessons, and I know you struggled with it.

I love the hair! And the shadows, too.
Beautiful job as usual Terri, so realistic love it. Ron
Hi @Nan -
This green apple is most impressive for a first post. I’m excited to see more from you. Watercolors are what I started with years ago, and I still love using them.

The rocks did turn out great. I really like the paving stones at the very front, it frames the front part in nicely.
