Australian Superb Fairy Wren. This is the first use of my new pan pastels, and I’m delighted. This is merely a study. As you can see, much of the paper’s tooth is still visible. When I do the final drawing, I’ll do it on Pastelmat paper. The Pan Pastels go on so smoothly, and I love the effect I got in the background with little effort. I added a few details with Caran D’ache pastel pencils.
