I’m glad I went through this thread. I completed the pastel landscape course as well and about the time I finished, I felt like I had learned so much that I wish I had known from the beginning. So I think I will pick my favorites and redo them. I’m uploading two pastel drawings I did for my twin grandsons.

Hi @Jeanine - oh wow!!! Thanks for sharing your art work. I am glad you found this post too. I like both of your drawings, but the lion really blows me. Love it how you enhanced the majestic mane even further with the background.

I truly enjoy seeing so many wonderful pieces, it’s so inspiring!

Another cloud study - it’s so much fun learning and working on small pieces.
Hope, you are all having a good time,
Buddy

Thank you Buddy! I have found that when I’m doing a piece for someone in particular, a little something extra comes through. I’m glad you can see it.

Thanks Terri! I picked that up from the complementary color schemes that Matt and Ashley refer to. I knew the blue would enhance the orange and am glad it came through so strongly. Appreciate your comments.

Hi dear friends, it took me quite some time to finish the next sketch of the pastel landscape course realizing, I am struggling a lot getting sketchy, as I tend to get wrapped in details. So this course and medium will teach me to loosen up.

I wish everyone having a great time,

Buddy

Buddy,

This turned out lovely. The shadows really help this artwork to come alive. I really like the color scheme you are using. Looking forward to the next one!

Thank you Teri, I think that the greens and reds are too strong, but it’s been fun. Yeah, finished lesson 5 ā€œrocks in landscapesā€ using Pastelmat paper.

Buddy,

I like the muted reds and greens. This one also turned out really nice. Your interpretations are what makes these all so lovely.

#Buddy the pastel landscape course was one of my first. When I took it I knew nothing about pastels nor the importance of paper type. I am toying with the idea of going back to my favorite landscapes and doing them again on sanded paper this time. If I do, I’ll add before and after photos. It’s been tricky for me though; I’m home for a few weeks then go to my daughters to help with her twins for a few weeks. Lots of back and forth in my life right now so it may be awhile before I can attempt the redos.

That will be a great idea Mike…let us know when you finish it or even as you progress!

Great to see it runs in the family and how proud you are of him!

I looked up this class too Ori Nebula (Beth). I had given it away but had it on my phone still!
