I think INKtober will be lots of fun!

@Brenda,

I can totally relate to the enthusiasm of creating something with medium you learn to love and hyper focusing on creating more and more (very redundantly lol). Keep on creating and posting !!

Yep! I couldn’t sleep last night, so I spent some time inking!

Brenda, i am so enjoying wathing your progression on the pen and ink drawings. The latest few are really amazing, cherries, bird and butterfly. The ink wash cherries look like actual B/W photo of cherries. I’m impressed.

Are you going to take inktober challenge. I want to try it, but not sure if I will follow the inktober website suggetions or track more of the subjects with pen and ink from Matt. I also dont know if I will get 31 in 31 days. Have a lot going on. I’m in Texas and trying to get a home finished up in Mississippi, working, looking at a possible business opportunity, and trying to keep up with some artwork too. Currently, going back and forth on 25 days to better drawing (but cant keep up everyday) as well as really into the distortion live lesson from Ashley. Wating on lesson 3 to upload so that I can catch up.

It would be nice to see many of our members try to do inktober and post as well.

I did the 1st INKtober drawing; prompt “DREAM”…

Beautiful! I am trying Inktober. For Dream, I used the butterfly I was going to do anyway. I paired it with Emily Dickinson’s “The Butterfly’s Day.” Two of my favorite things, both pretty Dreamy for me.

Thanks for your comments on my recent pen and ink work.

Today was day 2 of Inktober. The prompt was the word “spider!” I’ve done a drawing of what I found in my mailbox one day. I flipped open the door, and a black widow spider was hanging in her web right at the front of the box. Now I’m triggered every time I get the mail. I look around the box interior, carefully pick up each piece of mail, and shake it before I continue. No way will I ever put my hand in that mailbox after dark again! I have done that in the past. :scream: By the way, the red hourglass on her belly is much brighter in my drawing, and it was shining like a warning beacon, lit up by the sun, the day this happened. LOL!

Brenda,

Don’t blame you for veing cautious. Dont like spiders at all.
Never thought I’d be drawing one. I have to finish mine. Started late last night and didn’t finish. Spent most of the evening helping my son with physics homework. Will post once completed. Now stress is on, need to finish this one, do today’s Inktober and catch up on the distortion live lesson. Sounds like a lot of playing catch up. At least I got some done.

Cool! Wolf spider? Tarantula?

Physics?? I pity our granddaughter when she asks me to help with something like physics. I will continue doing my bit with her for history, geography, and art. We help homeschool her. I learn as much as she does when we do ancient history and geography. I didn’t like it in school.

It is a tarantula or is supposed to be. I am trying something new on this one. Will see how it comes out. My set of Micron pens has a light and medium gray set of pens in the collection. I will try to address some of the light areas and stripes with those.

I did a web!

INKtober - Day 2 Complete.

Ok, a day late, but Tarantula is finished. Took a little longer than I thought. He is drawn at pretty much full life-sized scale and is 5.5" x 5.5" on 8"x8" sheet. Used 2 shades of Micron Pens with just a touch of gel pen here and there. Shadows were done with alchol markers.

Guys you are all brilliant with your inking. I have so much to catch up. I have been thinking about taking Inktober but family visit kinda interrupted my plans. Not all is bad though due to some amazing gifts from my family. I am no longer bound to use pencils ei: Brutfunner, Crayola I have now amazing Derwent 24 set of each Lightfast, Draving and Coloursoft as well, God almighty the most incredible set of 12 Luminance. See how hard it is to get to inking now! Most of my time I just sit staring at, sniffing or gently handling my lil’treasure  I will snap out of it but I need to be dramatic firts. Please keep posting I really love your work.
