I have had fun working with such a limited color scheme. These student grade Faber-Castell watercolor pencils are really working great. I hope to afford the Pitt line of watercolor pencils in the future, the set has 120 colors.
Didn’t Matt say with colored pencils more is better!!!

YES!!! But I think it really referred to art supplies in general. Wink, wink!! More is better! But especially colored pencils and watercolor pencils. I have the box of 72 Derwent pencils. I also have a small set of Fabre-Castell. I have a great assortment of Prismacolor premier pencils as well as polychromos. I could just go on and on.

So here is the finished project. I could have refined the hands some more and added a bit more variation to the stump but overall, for a somewhat monochromatic image I am pleased.

I did enjoy drawing/painting Stan with the limited pallet in the long run. I have always wanted to a piece of artwork using basically just one-color range with tints and shadows. It was fun and I just did my own thing with the stump.
Thanks for the encouragement, haven’t been feeling so well so it takes me longer to finish projects I am working on. I do keep them where I have to see them daily. Makes me want to finish on the day my brain is able to work on a certain project. Sometimes looking at them for a while I get inspired on how to proceed.

You know that I’m not fighting the struggles you have with your health, yet I’d hate to tell you how many things are sitting in plain sight that need to be finished. One of them is more than half way done and I haven’t touched it for more than a year. Yikes.
