I tell myself to always keep drawing and learning. Just following the subjects in pen tutorials. Learnt so much drawing this ![]()
Nice Acorn! How long did it you take to complete this one?
I might give it a try if it’s a shorter lesson
Sonia
Hi Sonia, I think it took maybe just over an hour.
Dan,
Great, that’s like a whole weekend for me lol
Sonia
Great work. Love it.
This is great work. I love it.
Another one from the subjects in pen and ink. Still learning. That was a tough one! Not overly happy with it.
Beautiful rose work!

Hi Dan -
You’re being hard on yourself. What you’ve drawn is quite nice. Come back and look at it again in a couple weeks and you’ll like it better then.
I found the lesson and reference photo for the rose. I’ve just started it but will be going with more realism as I continue to play with the Zebra Rubber 80 ballpoint pens. I’ll post whatever I end up with.

Thank you so much - that is really kind of you.
Thank you. I think you are right. Really appreciate your kind words. I actually feel better about it today and I have taken a better photo and looks better. I was looking at the dark photo thinking - i don’t like this
but pleased with my effort today
Thank you so much Denise. Appreciate that. Really pleased with the outcome
I really enjoyed that course. It just takes you down a path of art that is truly amazing. Different priorities, methods, results. I haven’t used dip pens… maybe someday. I use fineliners of different varieties because that’s what I have!
Ballpoint sketch of a woman in robe (on old scrap envelope , not sorry !)
tried to get used to cross contour lines to show form and hatching to distinguish background from subject
Terri @robichon ,
thank you again for your very kind words x It started as a bit of a visual rant against AI images everywhere really but I decided it looked nice so I kept going !
Best wishes for 2025
Trevor
Very nice Trevor! @trevowen
It is hard to draw bodies, but you nailed it here! I love how you separated the background from the subject. As well, I like a lot how you draw the hair, so simple but so complex.
