Which do you prefer ?
I am a complete beginner and I use mechanical pencils (0.5 mm).
I don’t like traditional pencils because they became shorter and shorter and I have to change them frequently… I’d like to try to use lead holders too (I will be grateful for every advice about lead holders…)
I’d like to know which pencils do you use and why do you prefer them to the others.

I agree that wooden pencils wear down quickly, but I have not tried mechanical pencils to tell the truth. I guess with either of them you’d have to have all of them (different points) available to you and sharpened ones right beside you when drawing. I would guess that mechanical pencils might be the best choice. ArtistLittleNora

I’d try the lead holder by Staedtler. You can insert any grade of graphite that you wish and sharpening is great too. I use it all the time and love it!
