This is a Cockerpoo pastel drawing, drawn for her owners 60th birthday as a gift. I changed the background as it wasn’t a very attractive look with the corner of the house and paving slabs on the floor, so I gave the drawing some colour. I used Clairefontaine pastel mat and used a selection of pastel pencils. Hope you like it. Deb
So sweet, I think the owners will be very pleased, my compliments
Thankyou, the owner had a tear in her eye, she was quite emotional. Deb
Hi Deb. As usual… WOW! You did such a wonderful job on this dog. I half expected that tail to start wagging and the mouth to open into a doggy smile. I love the texture on the fur. Makes me want to run my fingers through it.
Thankyou Patricia, Willows fur is very soft to the touch, she’s quite a sweetie. Deb
This is adorable and beautiful. Wonderful work.
Many thanks Denise,
Deb
Oh, so lovable. You capture wonderful expression. I love the texture–like I could feel the soft fur.
Thankyou Kali for your lovely comment. Deb
What a great, meaningful gift. I’m sure she was thrilled.
Thankyou Chris, she is very pleased with it. Deb
This is beautiful! What a wonderful gift for the owners.
Great piece of work. Good cast shadows and contrasts.

Thankyou Kathy, the owner is very pleased with it. Deb
Thankyou Jack for your comment, much appreciated. Deb
You absolutely captured the expression and fur, and I like the background you selected. Do you use a product to protect the pastels?
Hi Jody, I used to use a fixative when I was using velour and then tried it on pastelmat and had a disaster with it. So now I don’t. I’m just using pastel pencils and find there is less dust and mess than the soft pastels, I think my problem was too much soft pastel and heavy handed with the fixative. Blobby marks on the finished pastel not a good look. Deb
I love him. I love the curly definition in his coat and the color shading. Bravo!
Thankyou Iris for your comment. Deb
Cute girl! Lovely personality! Captured so well.
