June,

Thank you for always starting these threads. I’ll post mine as soon as I take a picture of it. If you think yours is wanky just wait till you see mine. We are in a class of our own!!

Hello all!
Here is my version of the cup. When I printed it out it was 8 x 10 - as it is known at times I am technically challenged!LOL!

Doing this I had it a bit to far to the left and the shadow went off of the side so to make balanced, and give the cup I added a little balance to cheer things up! Also I used blue instead of red.

This is my first attempt at acrylics. It’s nice to have a beginner-beginner class. I bought the paints years ago and they have sat on a shelf. I think I am lucky in that I had purchased Golden Open Acrylics. I must have read that these were good for beginners but I think I’ll stick with these. I need the extra time!

Hi Melissa @Melissa

You did great with both the value scale and the cup. Congratulations on your early progress with this media.

Hello Melissa,

You did a wonderful job, especially for time using acrylics. Acrylics are not the easiest to work with but as you gain experience they are very versatile and fun.

Hello Therese, Nice job! You were able to smooth transitions and create bold colors.

Not sure if I love or hate it! LOL I had a hard time controlling the paint especially with the smaller marks. I also don’t like all the “paper” texture. Wish I had used something with a smoother surface. I used Winsor & Newton Galeria Permanent Rose, Titanium White, and Mars black.
