@Brenda

I just now saw your watercolor kingfisher, and I love it. Love the details and the skills you have with watercolors. It is inspiring to see your posts. Watercolor continues to be challenging for me, but still try any chance I get here at TVI!
Thank you for sharing

Thank you so much, Sonia. Watercolors have to be one of the most challenging of art media. I have started doing daily challenges again, and I can see the progress. I think it is something I’ll need to do regularly for a long time in order to feel I’ve achieved my goal of “doing watercolor.” :star_struck:

Brenda,

I agree with you. Water color is the most challenging form of painting. As you know I enjoy painting with multiple mediums. I also feel like it will take me an eternity to even get decent with watercolors.

Teri, I also have discovered that watercolor is a “use it or lose it” medium!!! I took a break of several months, and when I came back to it, I found I was very very rusty. Daily watercolor challenges of at least 20 minutes are essential for me to retain that “muscle memory!” I do still love it though. My most recent watercolor is a two-color version of a horse, using unexpected colors to see if you can capture the values and contrast. I keep saying I could add a horn and have a great unicorn. LOL! This is from a tutorial on Emily Olson’s website, Watercolor Mastery.
