It won’t take up mushroom- it’s small. GSL 12/3

My watercolor pencils consist of 8 CRAYOLA colors I must have purchased 2 years ago. The colors were very, um, CRAYOLA. I did the best with what I had- and this is in a sketchbook so the paper isn’t great either. That being said, I got attached to this little drawing and had great fun(gi.) I took some extra time and did add the gouache highlights on the remnants. I’d never call this realistic but it’s definitely a mushroom!

Hi Lisa @HarleysMom

Love your mushroom and your sense of humor. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Terri! I seem to be in my own thread, the rest of the shrooms went elsewhere. In a happy coincidence tonight, I found a deal on Faber Castell watercolor pencils, so I picked up a set. What a difference! I swatched them out and they are so much fun. Can’t wait to take them for a spin with a drawing, maybe some onions to go with that mushroom.

Hi Lisa @HarleysMom

New art supplies are so much fun. Be sure to post whatever you decide to draw with them.

@HarleysMom

That is a very good looking mushroom! Very impressive work with crayola, I would’ve never known!

I had a whole day to myself and chose to watch GS from this season and do 4 pieces in graphite to focus on values. Here’s my mushroom and remnants. I used Mars Lumograph on this one- and only this one. I often forget about these pencils. I Iike them but don’t love them.

Hi Lisa @HarleysMom

The values on this one are good. I really like the shadows on the stem.

Thanks, Terri @robichon

I was happy with this one. I kept to the 45 minutes, which surprised me as I think graphite is a slower medium.

Could be called abstract perhaps!
