Thanks Bill for making me laugh. And at least I’m not the only one that takes a close look. You know “observation” is a valuable skill set when drawing and painting. That’s my excuse anyway.

I actually just purchased some Rubbermaid sealing containers. My 5 x 7 glass pallet fits perfectly in there. The same pallet I had under the veggie container covering them were a little taky but still useable.
Since the new container is airtight I wanted to see what effect it had after a few days, I haven’t been painting much because of Lyme. I’ll go check it now - be right back!
It’s been almost a week, and they are still moist and useable. So, it works. I used to do this with acrylics, spritz them with water and cover them with a lid or container of some sort, used either cling wrap or a Ziploc bag and they would last pretty good, but then I do use open acrylics too.
Hope you are having a good day!!

Peter,
This looks like a wonderful place to work and get lost in. Messy means that the creativity is flowing!!

Marina, What a great idea, and your project looks fun. I just have tables scattered all over my little apartment.

Hi Teri (with 1r) @TLP
The Rubbermaid sealable container sounds like a good plan. I think I’ll add it to my shopping list. Thanks.

Haha. Of course it’s a cow! Cows are my happy art
Thank you Bill! It was my first attempt and it sure wasn’t easy. I just posted the finished drawing under a new post.
Hi Tom @tomee43 - thanks for playing along. I especially like the photo of my work area on your computer screen

My husband and I believe it is extremely important for everyone to have hobbies, especially ones you are passionate about. In retirement, exercising your brain by challenging it is the secret to happiness. Keeping this in mind, when we were getting ready for retirement we put a huge addition on our retirement home (out in rural Minnesota on a little lake). The primary function of the lower walk-out level of that addition was to have our dream hobby room. This is where you can find both of us pretty much every day of the week, all day long. So now I’ll share a couple more photos of that space. I have started a new project since the last photo - an acrylic painting of my dad.

How do you keep everything so neatly in place in such a humongous gorgeous space? I fainted by the sight of such art space! W(0

Wait…. TWO German shepherds! double adorable!!
Hi Teri! You said you like to draw wild animals. I do as well and have drawn a few. Please post some of your work. I drew a baby chimp that I sent in to the Critique for Matt to review. This was about a year ago, but it still should be available. I see you’re working on a zebra. I’ve wanted to draw one, so please share when you finish. I’ll try to get a picture of another to share.

Hi Sonia. I just bought some new storage cubes a couple months ago that are on casters under one of the folding tables. I did some reorganization when I got them and it has made a huge difference. But it does get covered and crazy from time to time, based on what’s going on. I also have a storage room close to this big room where I store stuff I need less often, like picture frames. I’m probably the most organized person you’ve ever met, so organizing stuff efficiently makes me happy.

Hi Sonia. That dog is Duke, and he NEVER leaves my side. So of course he was photo bombing. He had an often fatal twisted stomach when he was 10 months old and I sat with him in the pet ER room for hours that weekend evening before and after his surgery. That made him totally devoted to me forever.

Yup, the second German Shepherd is Sammy, and he totally belongs to Jim, my husband. We have two cats also that go anywhere they want whenever they want. One is sitting on my lap right now.

William,
Your elephant is wonderful.
I also submitted a Lion two years ago. It is still in the critiques I believe. I look for yours, if I remember correctly, I watched that critique. i have gone back and watched nearly all of them.
I have a giraffe that I will see if I have a pic of to post.

If my “studio” looked like that I would spend all day there as well.
