Live Lesson Pastel Landscape 7/19/23

I’m sure learning a lot about using coloured pencils trying to keep up with Matt. I’m looking forward to having the foreground (firewater?) in and seeing the whole picture.

Teresa, that looks so good!!! I’m glad you’re doing colored pencils. It inspires me to step out of my box a bit!

That look fabulous. How large did you make it? I’m assuming smaller than his since using colored pencils

This is my progress from last night.

Teresa, very nice. I do enjoy when people deviate from the lesson in choice of materials. Really helps to see how things could look in different materials.

Everyone is progressing in your wonderful unique styles. I still have to do this last lesson then will post it.

Junenez, looking good. Yours seems to be really bright. Cant wait to see the contrast when you get in the darker values at the bottom. Should be awsome if you get reLly dark values and a smooth transition as you move down the picture plane.

Here is my latest installation of this live lesson.

Here’s mine! Got ahead of myself with some green grass there, but good thing we can cover up if needed  it’s so exciting!!! Have I mentioned that I love soft pastels? Love soft pastels…

@Brenda,
Is it just me, or both our landscapes are looking very similar?

Thanks for asking, Teri. I wouldn’t be able to complain too much if our air conditioner hadn’t died!!! I think it was just never intended to deal with the heat we’ve experienced for such a long time this year. :frowning:

Someone will be here in the morning to show us our options. We have a small unit that is keeping us from melting!

Brenda

I am so sorry you’re experiencing such struggle. I can relate to you after a bad storm knocked tons of trees over East Texas, taking dawn power lines and obviously no power for at least 4 days straight. The worst part was that it brought with it the super hot heat wave that has not left us. It was a very miserable time just without AC.
I hope you find relief sooner than soon!

Sonia, what part of east Texas are you in? We live in Huntsville, just north of Houston!

I figure we’ve had at least a month of 100+ temps with no end in sight. And I’ll be so happy when comfort returns with an AC that works.

Thanks for your support and encouragement!

Oh, Brenda, I am so, so very sorry. I have the one her at 78 and keep the blinds closed to keep the apartment cooler and all we have had is high 80’s to low 90’s.

I do not do well with too much heat since Lyme Disease. Lyme likes the body to be cool, so it lowers the body temperature. Otherwise, I herx and the symptoms go haywire. That has been for the last month, thus my inability to keep up with the art projects.

Hope they can fix the air conditioner/ cooling system soon!!!
