Here is my latest. Please critique or any comments are welcomed.
The paper is Bristol vellum 100lb, 9x12. I used graphite 4H, H, 6B. I discovered my carbon pencil which I used for all the shadows. The drawing itself is 7 3/4 x 6 1/4.
Thank you,

Hi Jim @1kidneyJD

Expertly done. Love it.

Terri,

I really love this! Amazing how you got the blacks so black. Never used a Staedtler Mars pencil.

Also, your lighthouse is very well done. Sure like the results you get with those watercolor pencils!

I you weren’t so far away, I’d come up to the fair and see all your work in person.

Did this little bird from getting sketchy on my little sketchbook while waiting for my hair to get done. Matt used gray paper with staedler mars matte graphite pencils and white charcoal. I used only 2B matte pencil and eraser. I wish I could carry a whole load of art supplies wherever I go

Sonia, it looks to me that with one pencil you do have a load of art supplies. Amazing!

Jim and Terri w2rs @1kidneyJD @robichon,

I’m trying to practice sketching to get a little faster, not in a rushed way just more efficient.

Sonia, thank you for your kind words about my drawing. I tried to respond earlier but I guess I used up my response allotment (3) without a response back from someone. Again, thank you!

@Meme5 @robichon

Sonia,

Like Terri I always have multiple projects going, usually in different mediums. Now I have two in water-mixable oils, one in ink, one in colored pencil and the current live lesson.

I always take a day or more between sittings depending on how I am feeling or to analyze the artwork. Also due to the Lyme I at times have to let my brain decide what it is capable of working on.

I think you did a wonderful job on the Hydrangeas.

Hi Jim @1kidneyJD

I had no idea there were “rules” about how often you can post. That stinks.

Jim @1kidneyJD,

No worries, nobody’s keeping tabs.

Sonia

Yes only 3 at a time until you get a response back then my guess is 3 more until a response that day. One big thank you to everyone in one post which is not very personal in my opinion. C’est la vie.

Well, you can do “@“ for multiple people, or even make separate paragraphs for each person to make more individual responses. I think that’s what they are encouraging you to do.

Hi friends -
I started this 11 x 14 watercolor last year, with hopes of finishing it by Christmas. Clearly that didn’t happen. Actually finished on 7-20-2024. I used 300# Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper.

When I took this photo of my sisters I wanted to be sure to show that Anne is now using a wheelchair.
