You had me smiling big. Everything about it is beautiful. I especially like Anne having her fingernails being done in the portrait.

Hi Sonia @Meme5

I didn’t think anyone would notice her nails. It makes me happy that you did.

Terri w2r,

I’m familiar with sensory issues. So I couldn’t help but notice her nail polish, her turtleneck shirt, and her sweet smile being content, which you captured so well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My most recent drawing is an 8x8 oil pastel drawing of a red rose, on Canson Mi-Teintes paper (color #336 sand). Boy, this is like drawing with tubes of lipstick.

I’ve only been able to complete this horse from getting sketchy on youtube while being out of town to see my son who is in college. On black drawing paper with white charcoal.

Hello friend -
You continue to impress me. Your talent keeps showing itself and I smile when I see the beautiful things you have created. And it’s even more amazing that you did this while traveling.

Hi everyone -

I just finished this 8x10 acrylic painting of my dad. It’s on Arches 300# Hot Press watercolor paper.

Thought I’d do something different and show you the painting (left) and my photo reference (right) together. Dad passed away in Dec 2012, but this is one of my favorite photos of him when he was about 90 yrs old.

Your comments are very much appreciated. Art has proven to be a lifesaver to me as far as helping me get through life’s challenges. It means so much to be able to share my work and progress with y’all.
Thank you

Also, given the amount of posts allotted, here’s a little study I’m still working on, of my dear long gone grandparents. They raised me. I plan to make a family portrait of them with their 5 children from random pictures since they never took a picture as a family.

You must get your own exhibition at an art gallery, or something because everything you do is beyond amazing

Hi Sonia @Meme5 -

This family portrait is going to be so special. What I love about the Virtual Instructor is that we are all gaining the skills, practice and confidence to create really meaningful artwork. Please continue to post all that you do.

Hi Sonia @Meme5 -

Your comments are kind and I so appreciate your support of my artistic journey. I’m still trying to figure out these acrylics. I watched the Live Lesson of that DA** DUCK, and tried to apply what was being taught on this painting of my dad. I think I use too much medium because the layers of paint aren’t quite as smooth as I’d like them to be. But all in all, I’m pretty happy with this one because it actually looks like dad.

Ok Terri, now you are just showing off. Just kidding, hope there is a little smile on your face. An inspiring delight! Incredible piece of art.

Three weeks ago, Matt posted a “one hour” lesson on YouTube called “Pastel Drawing - Boat on Water”. I did this one today and in only 4 hours (those who know me know that I usually spend days on most of my drawings, not hours). Anyway, I did mine with oil pastels instead of soft pastels like Matt used.

Mine is 8x10 and I had a paper by Arches that was specifically made for “oil” so that’s what I used.
