As much as I wouldn’t mind to take the credit, it’s actually @robichon the artist who shared her wonderful painting.

I am a beginner- started seriously drawing in June 2023 with Getting Sketchy Live and joined TVI in January. This is my attempt at my Doberman in acrylic. I love seeing everyone’s work here and reading the supportive comments. What a great community!

Nice job and thanks for sharing your delightful painting here. You did a great job at capturing your pet’s personality. I especially like the eyes.

Hi June @junenez -
I’ve already started working on my “photography” for next year’s county fair. I took this photo this week and thought of you. Feel free to use it as a reference if you want. (But it won’t break my heart if you decide not to use it.)

Oh I love it! It is going into my cow folder. I love that tail!

Hi June. That’s funny because the tail was my favorite part.

I expect I shall be doing in pastels soon…

I used a photo I took myself about 10 years ago of our car, a 2005 BMW 3 series. When I started I got a little mixed up with the paper, I thought it was a sheet of cheap watercolour paper, after I realised it was Bockingford Rough, it ate the pencils up.

@janed Jane,

I like the drawing very much! I never heard of that kind of paper. What kind of pencils did you use?

From getting sketchy, here’s my toothbrush drawing. I only had bristol smooth paper at hand so it’s not as textured as the one Ashley drew. It matters to me because I try to always use the same materials used in the lessons, but it was my lunch break at work, then finished it at home.

Hi Sonia. That’s a great looking toothbrush. Maybe I’m going to have to do it too.

Wow, Terri, whatever you draw turns out to be fantastic! Pencil drawings are very time consuming and regarding how realistic especially the trousers and boots look, you must have spent a lot of time.

May I allow myself to give you my advice! As the leather looks both old and shiny, I would expect more relfected lights and shadows on the ground. Seems to be a bright day.

Just watch via gray scale filter on my screen: perfectly well done!

You are so great in art,
Buddy

Dear Sonia, the cat gives me a big smile on my face. One eye opened to keep on watching. Lol, or does the cat say: Don’t dare disturbing me?

I very much love your sketches,

Hi Sonia @Meme5 and other friends.

I’ve been watching all the great stuff so many of you have been doing. I’ve been in a bit of a slump and your posts have motivated me to pick up the pencil and start drawing again. This is my version of the Gettin Sketchy project. @Brenda - I thought that you would appreciate that you are no longer the only one who “cheated”. And clearly I spent a lot more than 45 minutes on it.

Drawing is 8x8 and when I add a matt it will go in a 12x12 frame. I used Fabriano 140# hot press watercolor paper.

Super lovely weimaraner. You are no “pumpkin eater” my friend, especially when choosing to take your time and do it your beautiful way. I love it , the nose is my favorite .
